We have just had a lovely weekend with our little family, my son daughter in law and step grandaughter have been up here for the weekend, they travelled up from Plymouth on Friday and have gone home this evening. Our step grandaughter Danielle is starting Sheffield Uni this week and so has moved away from home and into student accomodation on the uni campus. It has been a bit of an emotional weekend as well as an exciting new chapter in life. Danielle is about to study Korean and this time next year will be travelling to Korea to study there for a year......how scary is that for a 19 year old!! she is so brave and we wish her the best of luck. Luckily she is only about 25miles from us so we will be able to see her and treat her and she will be able to visit for weekends. We know how her Mum is feeling tonight as exactly the same in reverse happened to us when our son went to live in Plymouth!!
They arrived on Friday evening after a horrendous journey which saw them sat engine switched off on the motorway while the services dealt with an accident and 2 oil spillages!! they were starving and so were we as we had been sat waiting for them to arrive, out came the takeaway menu and we had a lovely Chinese :-) yummy!!
Saturday was moving in day which was a full day getting organised and unpacking and making sure Danielle was settled and had made friends with the other students in her dorm. They also called to see my Mum and Dad so by the time they had finished it was about 8pm . I made sandwiches and chips and cake for us all and we settled down to a lovely quiet evening.
Sunday, we had a lazy morning they went shopping and we prepared and cooked a nice Sunday Roast for 7 of us which included our other son daughter in law and grandaughter. Everyone had a great plateful and declared it delicious, we have plenty leftover for tomorrow and again on Tuesday! I think I over estimated quantities lol We are just sat waiting for them to call and say they have arrived home safely...... roll on December when we will see them all again when we go down there for a long weekend.
I love having me family here together even if it is only for weekends, it gives me chance to mother them again :-)
