The quads had been looking forward to their birthday party and Saturday was the day!
Super Heroes was the party theme!!
The kids were upstairs having a rest and read time when I arrived.
Amber and Mike was surprising the kids with a Bounce House and I went up to keep them occupied while it was being set up in the front yard.
That's Warren there with his Batman t-shirt on! He's the son of Amber's best friend from college.
We were playing FREEZE!
We played and laughed and I showed them a truly funny video on my iPad.......
Have y'all seen the commercial for 'Squatty Potty?' It is HILARIOUS!!!!
I seriously thought it was a joke - but it's not!!!
The birthday kids!!!
Five years old!
Take a look at the clothes rack Mike made to hold the party favors!
Capes and masks for everyone!
Food was good and there was lots of it!
Pizzas from Costco!
Best birthday EVER!!!!
I especially loved the Captain America shield Amber created with berries and marshmallows.
There were lots of people - adults and children!
Happy Birthday CAKE!!!
It can get confusing when you squeeze FOUR names in at the end!
The photo op corner was a big hit!
Louis Dean took my picture!
He didn't want to be in it for some reason. Could be the cape AND mask were too small for him!
Lisa, Amber's long time friend and college room mate, and her little boy, Warren.
Medley, Amber and Lisa.
The quads love their nanny!!!
Of COURSE she came to their party!!
We took lots of pictures!
There were lots of gifts!
This is what we gave them.....
a movie night complete with new pj's, sleep masks, popcorn, Maona movie, Cokes, and some bubble gun because I told them they could chew gum when they were 5 years old. I chew gum and they have been looking forward to getting their own!
I think they liked it all!!
It was a party to remember and we all had a load of fun!!
It was late when we got home!
That's a sign of a good party - when people are having fun and linger long!
This morning I went to church by myself. Louis Dean was just too tired.
This afternoon we headed to Fort Worth to Nita and Mike's house for a Family Gathering.
Nita's son, Bill, is in town on business and that was a perfect reason to get together so we could visit.
This is Nita and her two children and Lily, their beautiful grandmother.
Mother/daughter!
Deanie was down in her back and couldn't make it today - as bad as she wanted to be there!!
I took pics and sent them to her along with a short video.
She so wanted to hear Bill's voice.
He lives in Arizona and we haven't seen him in over a year!
Nita and Joni - such a fun lady and daughter of the beautiful Lily!
I know Fruitcake Cookies are traditionally a Christmas treat - but I made up a batch of dough Friday night and baked up two cookie sheets full on Saturday morning.
Lily dearly loves these cookies and it made me happy to bake them for her!
We left Fort Worth around 5:00 and it stormed on us the entire way home!
After a heavy rain is a good time to pull weeds and that's what I did this evening.
It's been a good weekend and we have a lot to be thankful for.
We will spend this coming week at home before going back to the camper to work on our add a room project.
Wishing you all a good night from Whistling Pete and the Chapman's!
